Injecting #
- Clean the area up to two times with an alcohol swab, starting from the middle and going outward in a circular direction.
- Remove the cap from the tip of the syringe.
- Pinch a large area of skin making sure that your fingers are far enough apart so that you don’t accidentally stick yourself.
- Grab the skin, insert the needle, pull back on the syringe to make sure you’re not injecting into a blood vessel, and then push the medication in.
- Discard the syringe immediately into a sharps container.
- Wipe with an alcohol swab over injection area in case of bleeding and then apply a bandage.
Make sure to place the medication vial back into the refrigerator.
